PKA// Just a bit of fun {Jeran/Vy ~ Marree}

Settling in to my new home. Check. Meeting with my new roommate? Done. Getting nuritionment? Trying. I'm not sure what this food is, but it almost seems tasteless the way it looks. On the otherhand, I know I'll end up having to get used to it, so with each and every bite, I find that looks can be very deceiving. Especially in this place. The sergents and commanding officers everywhere all hold their own looks. Some look harmless then turn into tyrants if your uniform is creased the wrong way. Kind of like I found out earlier. Damn these women and their iron pressed clothing needs. I'm more than lucky it wasn't me, but another bunk mate down the hallway was who had to deal with the verbal lashing that resonated all the way down the hallway to my bunker where Tyler and I could hear. That shrill voice of that... what was the rank? General? Captain? Sergent? My hardest mission here will be learning all of the ranks. I wasn't born a military man. I was born with an intelligence for the medical field. Though, what they offer here will give me the disipline to make that dream into a reality one day. With the right people in my social circle, it will be to my benefit.

Her name falls into my thought immediately when I see some young girl come into the mess hall to grab some food. Her hair color is the same as Kya's and her height is the same, but the voice is definately not her. Those girls are too giggly and worried about their uniforms to be Kya. What does come from that is the worry. My old man is probably having a hissy fit right now. More than likely, Kya's getting the backlash of me leaving, but I told her to make sure to call here if anything happens; I'm just not sure she will.

A heavy sigh pulls from my lungs and out into the open air as I scoop a heavy spoonful of pasta into my mouth and look around as I chew it. Seems there's a lot of new people to this as most of them are talking about what fun it is to be here. Me? I'm more on the quiet end for some reason. I observe and learn from what the others do wrong. What they do right. How they solute a higher rank; everything.

"Cadet Ruze." Comes the voice very familiar from when I first got here this morning. Now, the voice is different. A little less feirce than the first time I met Sergent Mets. I immediately nod to him.

"Sergent Mets?" I put the spoon down and take the napkin to wipe my mouth before standing to his presence. He eyes me good. He looks over my dress appareal and with a raised eyebrow, he puts his hand outward as if to offer me a seat.

"Settled into your bunk? Didn't get lost?" I take the offer to sit like he's motioning for and I do just that. Though, I'm not really sure what it is that he's wanting and I'm damn sure not going to ask. I'll let him do it on his own terms. Though his two questions make me curious. I wonder why he's even worried about it or even asking about it. Do the higher ranks really care if your settled in? For some reason, this one is. So, I oblige his questions with answers.

"Yes, Sergent Mets. Settled in and all squared away. Thank you." A little bit of politeness don't hurt, right? I study his face carefully to the tension in his brows as he looks down to my tray and then back up to me. Does he realize he's interrupted my meal? Or maybe that was his whole purpose of it. Still, I don't dare touch the spoon until he's finished with what he needs to say.

"You're a quiet one, aren't you Ruze? I don't like quiet. Too many bad thoughts run through the minds of the quiet ones. The ones that really cause trouble around here. Answer me truthfully, Cadet Ruze. Are you going to be causing the mischeif in this group of fresh cadets?" Now, I know what it is that he's trying out. He's toying with me. He's intentionally trying to study me and my ways. Find some sort of weak spot in my attitude, but I only shake my head.

"No, sir. Err, Sergent Mets. I assure you, no funny business here. Just here to get trained. Learn. Become what everyone here is dreaming of." I make a point to make that known that I will offer up nothing to cause mischeif here. He seems somewhat pleased cause I can see the tension easing off on his brow.

"Carry on, Cadet Ruze. Be warned, I've got my eye on you. One foot out of line, and I won't hesitate to kick your ass to the slums of district twelve for your first assignment, should you make it that far." His lip curls upward for only a moment when he states that with a sudden wisp of hatred in his voice. He stands tall and unmoving but it don't stay that way for long before he turns on his heels and walks on to torment another young guy three tables down. Now, I'm certain, he's going to be the one out to get me. Watching my every move, but why? Why me? I"m starting to think that every high ranking officer picks some new maggot to control and try to intimidate, but the thing is, intimidation don't work on me. My old man is more threatening then half of these guys here. Maybe my father should have come with me. They might straighten him out.

Once he's out of earshot, I mutter under my breath 'ass' and grab my spoon and start to take the food in two heaping spoonfuls before I hear a voice that draws me out of my own thoughts. The voice is familiar and when I look up, I see the face of the woman I despise so much right now.

"mind if I sit?" I give her a death glare. She's the one who hurt my sister. I had heard from Ky that she took that last hit after someone had called off the fight, yet she still continued and now, it's going to cost Kya at least three months of therapy and healing. She looks surprisingly well to have had her knee broken, but maybe Kya didn't complete it all the way. Maybe the bitch just has thick bones. I nod to her subltly and she sits down and speaks yet again. Like small breaks of coded wording. I only listen and don't react. "I brought a peace offering." Again. No answer.

"I gace one to your sister as well, though it's much different." She claims and voices a moment later that it was an agreement. I shrug my shoulders to Vy when she offers up the bottle of something. I do, however, stop and look at the bottle. What is she trying to offer me?

"What do you want, Vy?" I ask, my eyes trying to search for Sergent Mets before I turn back to the woman in front of me and the bottle she's holding out for me. Reluctantly, I take it in hand and bring it up to my nose. The smell is one that I recognize immediately and I pull it away quickly. The next thing I voice is a whispered tone. "What are you doing with this?"

Whatever this is, it seems like its going to be a test or something, but who am I to deny the peace offering. Is this because of Kya though? Her sitting with me? Her offering the bottle of liquid trouble? With a shake of my head, I bring the top of the bottle to my lips and take in a heavy gulp of it. The burning sensation feels good against my throat. "You don't fight fair, Vy. From what Ky said, you pulled that stunt after they called the fight. Underground fight or not, don't they usually have guidelines to abide by when the fights called off?"

"What kind of agreement did you and her make?" I question her and hand the bottle back. The feeling of the liquid still graces my throat with that burning sensation as I keep my eyes trained on this peculiar woman. First time I met her, we talked the morning Kya was so ill. Second time I saw her, it was when Kya and her were fighting. Is there a bad omen anytime we end up meeting this way? Maybe, I should phone Kya? "What made you join?"
