It's hard to believe how much time has past by since Mizar volunteered for the games. Her name has long left the house, the mind of every family member, and they except her nae to leave my mind, but that'll never happen. Every day of my life I place a smile upon my face pretending like she's forgotten, yet she's always lurking in the back of my mind; especially when the shadows form around me. It's like they taunt me every single day of my life wanting me to do more. I fight them with everything living inside me; however, it's only a matter of time before they take over completely. My name will be a mere memory just as Mizar's name is only a memory now.

All that is hopefully behind me today as my plans are talking to Milen for insulting the death of our sister. Mizar was my sister, my role model, and in the blink of an eye she ran away like a coward to the games. Maybe Milen was right in insulting her. It's a horrible day anyway knowing that nobody cares that she's gone except me, and maybe my brother, but mom and dad moved forward like nothing ever happened. Apparently Mizar wasn't good enough for them. Mizar was weak though and cocky, and she died. I'll always hate her for running away to the games, but she's gone, and nothing in the entire world will ever bring her back, and that's what hurts.

I drag my feet through the house as quietly as I possibly can because it's in my best interest to remain quiet until I'm knocking on Milen's door. Most of the family is still asleep, at least, they should be because the moon still shines brightly in the sky. It's at night I can't sleep. The death of Mizar haunts my dreams as the shadows surround me dancing across my body. I call for her, begging her to live, but she's gone. Her room became my room. Her items became my items. It's for the best, though, because I don't want my filthy half siblings touching them. I hate them all because the moment Mizar went into the games, they poured into the house like nothing ever happened.

When I'm standing in front of her door, I chuckle silently to myself before pounding my fist hard against the wood. A large grin plasters against my face as the shadows form in the night. One by one they grow larger before slowly moving around trying to attach the chains against my body, but tonight is different - I am breaking free for the first time. Nobody can control me, not even my dearest sister. I pound my fist against the door again wondering if she's even inside. "Milen, if you are inside, you best open this door. I want to talk to you." I step back from the door, and I wait. Hopefully nobody else wakes up because tonight it's going to be just me and her.

Mizar had been up training. She knew she should really get some sleep but the 67th hunger games reaping was coming up quickly and she wanted to be prepared. Lulianna had been wimpy like always after Mizar died. Crying over her bed and that stuff. Milen was sick of it. Milen quickly did a kick in the air before she went over to her window dot look out at the moon. It shined down over her and she loved it. The moon was beautiful just like her in Milen's mind. She walked over to her bed and plopped down.

There was a soft knock on her door and Milen looked up. "Milen, if you are inside, you best open this door. I want to talk to you." Said her sister Lulianna. Milen smirked. She walked over to the door and opened it. She leaned against the door frame watching Lulianna width a smirk on her face. "What is it sis?" She asked in an annoyed tone, "Are you looking for a therapy session because I think I can help with that." Milen almost laughed out loud at her own joke but continued the smooth smirk.

Milen studied Lulianna. Had she been crying? Milen thought looking at her sister's eyes, What would you expect from a wimp?

Night is my favorite time of day because it allows me the chance to relax away from my family with no problems in the world. Generally, I would be sitting on my bed letting the shadows taunt me, but not tonight. They are growing around me waiting to attack, but my will to fight them is stronger than ever. It's time to do something right with my life. I've been mourning Mizar for so long that my life has fallen apart almost beyond repair. Maybe if I spent more time with my half siblings, they would love and care for me, but it's not hopeful. Mom and dad hates me, and it's hard trying to please them because the feeling is mutual especially since the tormented Mizar enough to make her volunteer for the games.

Finally, Milen opens the door to her room and immediately starts with her annoying questions. My teeth bite hard into my lip fighting to keep myself calm. Living with her is hard because she doesn't care about me or anyone in my family for that matter. She's a little whore that goes around sleeping with random people walking down the street. Perhaps it's mean of me to think that, but honestly, I don't care. She's never done one good thing to me in my entire life. Hell, her existence was a total secret until she randomly appeared on the doorstep one day saying she was related to us. I take a deep breath before looking around the hall wondering if anyone will hear us talking.

As nice as a therapy session sounds, she's not the one I would talk to about anything. I'm tired of her pretending to care when she really doesn't. "No, I don't want a therapy session little sis. I want to talk to you. That is all." It's hard to hide the anger inside my voice as my blood boils through my veins. She insulted me too many times, and I refuse to let her insult me anymore. She doesn't need in my problems because it'll be to her advantage as she finds new ways to make fun of me. I grip the side of my pants lightly before letting my hands fall back down beside me. She's wanting to be in the games to prove she's the best, and by all means, it'll be a happy day.

"I want to challenge you to a friendly competition." Nothing between us is every friendly, but saying a friendly competition may catch her attention, not that she cares. A large grin grows on my face as the shadows slowly back away. "You will not win Lulianna. You are weak, and you know that. Just accept your fate." I know what they say are true, but it doesn't matter to me. I will challenge Milen for bragging rights. Maybe I am weak, but it won't last forever. "A friendly hand to hand combat to determine who really is the best. If you win, then you can insult me all you want. If I win, you can't insult me, or my family anymore. What do you say?"
