{ All around me are familiar faces;

A mere spectator and nothing else, Kendall muses to herself; how she admires the world around her like a piece of art, unbidden to touch, to feel and to be. As if her yearnings could ever evoke a single stroke of colour on a canvas where a thousand mingle with one-another like gleaming constellations in the midnight sky. But her dreams don't carry paintbrushes (they can't afford happy things), so she makes chalk out of broken glass shards and elicits a beauty so raw it tears the fabric apart. Just like her own heart (all those years ago).
She wishes she could fit in, for once.
But her OCD can be such a controlling bitch. That shirt feels too clingy, no? Holy shit! is that a strand of hair on your forehead?
Sigh. Well, it's practically a part of her now; she should just learn to deal with it.
Peeling off flimsy plastic gloves from her hands, Kendall sighs. It's been a very long day at work and all she can think of right now is a taking a good, hard nap. But the thought of walking home in the blazing weather makes her scowl, effectively ruining her mood for the rest of the day. Seriously, when will this drought end? It doesn't seem to be getting much better any soon.
The gloves make their way in the waste basket as she exits the shop, her gaze falling to the cracks in the earth. They make her sad for some reason.
It's because they're all sorts of unmendable, her mind tells her, just like you.
She pulls her tank top down, feeling overly exposed at the moment; it's normal for her to be this way when she's in deep thought. It makes her think everyone will see through her and know what's going on in her mind.
They won't, they won't, they won't, she consoles herself amidst shaking her head. A stray tear makes it's way down her cheek.
Kendall curses.{ Hide my head, I wanna drown my sorrow;
n o t o m m o r ow}
