SAD, BEAUTIFUL, TRAGIC
ruined family plot

They were destined for disaster right from the start. A name like 'Ruined' didn't mean success. It didn't mean that the bloodline could prosper -- it meant failure. 'Ruined' meant dying from the start. But still, the family of washouts still clung to the last string of hope desperately trying to crawl from the depths of hells into the realms of heaven.

Whether that by repeated counts of death, or a positive legacy in each footstep.

So, I finally got around to making this!

Here is the Ruined family plot in District Five, created after Pixie Ruined was reaped for the 69th Hunger Games at the start of 2015. Some family members have already been created (Viola Ruined played by myself and Nova Ruined by Avalon) but do not be put of my this -- as there are many characters who are still open to be played!

A single flower entwined between my fingers which would eventually find itself lying in the surrounding grass all alone, in pieces. I'd tear them all to shreds. The delicate petals would find themselves being carried away wind; the leaves drying up in the grass to slowly rot, rot, rot away; and the stem which was once so strong & reliable would wither, breaking into a hundred and one uniquely shaped pieces which would blend in with the green of the grass. Before: I was a young girl which a hope that her sister wouldn't come back in a box, but now, I'm a girl determined to forget it all.

Character name: Castle Ruined (18-year old cousin)
Character traits: Dependable, Helpful, Consoling, Caring, Optimistic, Sensitive
Roleplay sample: Castle had awoken with a start. It was that dream again, the dream she always seemed to have when she couldn't quite calm herself before she went to sleep. Despite always trying to calm down everyone else and help them get over troubles in their lives, she had her own issues that she was dealing with. It had been a while, but she still couldn't get the memory of watching her dear cousin die on a nationally televised death match. This was just something that she would never forget.

Rolling over in bed, Castle tried to shake the nightmare from her mind. She didn't want to deal with it at the moment. It popped up so often, that at this point, she didn't feel that it was necessary for her to put in any effort to try to make it go away. It seemed impossible to make it vanish. All she saw in her dreams anymore was the look on Pixie's face as she was dying. If she didn't see that, she didn't dream at all. Caste sat up, and looked out the window that was at the side of her bed. She looked out onto the streets of the District, and still couldn't get her mind off of her nightmare. Figuring that the best way to take care of it was distracting herself, she got up out of bed, and got dressed. It was late, but she needed to go out for a bit. Slipping on her boots, she headed downstairs and out the door, not bothering to tell anyone where she was going with anything more than a hastily scribbled note.

When she stepped out into the cool night air, she began to walk down the street. Perhaps the cold weather and the beautiful snow on the ground could take her mind off of things. It was difficult, though. This happened all too often. She could never stop thinking about it. She was supposed to be the one that helped others forget, but she could never do that for herself. There was the occasional person that passed by, and an animal or two that she spotted, however, Castle was mostly alone on her walk. She didn't speak to anyone, and simply kept walking until she reached the district square. By the time she got there, the sun was beginning to rise. She knew that she wouldn't be going back to sleep when she got home, so it didn't matter to her as much at this point about getting her mind on something else. Turning around, Castle headed home.

I have to be strong for everyone else. I can't let it get to me anymore. she thought to herself.
