Forgiveness is forgotten [Kyanite/Vy]

Kyanite Ruze With his arms carrying me so snuggly against his chest, I can feel the both of us ascend upwards. It's a simple pattern. Step. Shift. Step. Shift. Step. Shift. Over and over again about eight times until he readjusts me in his arms. Samuel scuffles beside us, making noises on the ground like newly fallen leaves have landed just in the wrong places to be stepped on and broken; treated as nothing. The god awful stench is overpowering my nose and covering up any other scents I may need to recognize around me. Is that the smell of pines? Or the smell of a small little creek? I wonder why we are traveling so far away from the center and from town? "She going to be okay, Dad? We don't need to kill her before..." A hand is moved quickly away from behind my neck and I'm shifted so that I don't fall in a moments time in order to hear a great 'smack'. Skin met skin as the boy whimpers for just one hair of a second before that hand returns to coddle me and keep me from falling. "You shut your mouth boy. You have done enough for now. Do you want to go tell the whole world what's going on out here? Voices travel in the woods. Noises echo. If anyone happened to follow her out here into the woods becasue you led her out here in such a rush, then someone can hear you. Now, SHUT. UP." His voice went from a gentle hum to a powerful ogre in two words, but the grumble in his voice recedes quickly and he keeps walking. "What are you going to do with me?" I wonder innocently with a sharp intake of breath when my shoulder jostles the wrong way with the dip in the ground he stepped into. "What did I do that was so wrong?" I come out of the daze a little more as we travel through the wooden area. "You're son... is this about Samuel? You know your son was injured. His knee was badly seperated -" "This has nothing to do with Samuel." He stops in his tracks and then I open my eyes thinking we've arrived only to see nothing but woods still. He quickly lets go of me just a foot off the ground. "It has to do with the fact that you, someone who is still in training, someone who has no business telling others what to do with their lives, is making choices for my son without my permission. If I wanted him to keep fighting under that trainer Pryce, then that would be my decision. But it was your signature on the paper that stated he's been dropped from the program for medical purposes. Medical purposes? I am his father. I decide when he quits and he's about to show you that he can keep fighting. Son?" My eyes tear over to Samuel who picks up a branch. Leeches feed off the sides of the branch, with thin light colored bark. A few good leaves are stilll attached at each end showing that it's just recently falled most likely from a storm or heavy gust. The tree could be decaying slowly but still producing fruits for the years labor. "Weapons help take down enemies. Weapons are a main thing to have in the games. HOw do you think Samuel is going to survive if he can't fight because of you pulling him out. You restricted him the need to learn. I'm going to restrict you to need to go home today. I hope you'll learn to request second opinions before you ever condemn someone to death." A harsh whooshing noise whistles in my ears just after the bite of the branch hits me. A new sensation attacks me from the arm first. Then the back a moment later when I roll to protect my body. Another wizzing noise pops near my ear and everything disappears. I wake screaming. "Oh hush. It's just alcohol." The man's gentle voice purrs out as something wet is poured over my hand, cleaning my knuckles that had been long since bleeding. Though, I could definately think of different, more kinder, ways to clean a wound. He just happened to find a way to hurt me even more though he's trying to help. I jerk my hand away from him, and blow hard against my knuckles to get the stinging sensation away and to relax those pain receptors that I have not had to use in so very long. "Fine. Let it get infected. It's no skin off my nose, little lady." He stands and turns one of the two lights off in this room full of gardening tools and rock quarry things. "Where am I?" I question, surveying my surroundings and the cot in which I lay. I notice that Samuel isn't anywhere to be seen and I can only think to remember a few minutes ago he was the one hitting me with the branch. The realization begins to hit me that I may not go home tonight. What scares me more than that is the fact that Samuel added that Vy would be here, too. The thought of Vy having to go through this too... falling into that pit in the forest. Do they not know that she's pregnant? Do they want to kill something so innocent? Vy deserves better than that and certainly not this fate again. My heart goes out for Vy because I know I'll never forgive myself if something happens to her too. If they touch her... "Water." He offers some cup from beside me and pushes it to my lips. I refuse the lukewarm liquid and it bothers him none at all. He only puts the cup back down and stands above me. "You'll do well to mend quickly if you want to challenge Samuel again. I'm telling you, my boy is still healthy." Voices greet me with a tremendous amount of hope. "HEL..." A hand is shoved against my mouth preventing me from muttering even the littlest of words and then shrugs it off. "Scream, and she will fight me. Go on, I dare you. I would love the chance to get back to my old career days. Maybe I can teach her a thing or two." He steps away turning the last light off before opening the door and disappearing. I'm left in the complete darkness and the only thing I can see is a tiny hint of light at the bottom of the door to wherever I am being held. "Vy. Run. Please." I state and sit up on the cot, pulling my legs over to the side. My feet touch the ground and its a feeling of instant relief. However, I can barely remember where those lights were. I stand up and search blindly for them. My fingers fumble with a few different things, knocking something off the wall, a hammer or something, before the dim light floods the tiny room. Time stands still as voices converse outside my cell. The light throbbing returns in my head again, located around the spot where the branch smacked against my ear. A light buzzing is present and my altered vision arrives and the threat of throwing up occurs so I lay back down on the cot, taking a deep breath to minimize the need to use the floor for a trash can. "Kyanite!" Her voice appears from out of nowhere and my eyes fixate upon her beauty standing there and at my side in an instant. No... she cant be here. SHe needs to get away. She is in grave danger - why did she come? "Run!" I try to tell her, hoping that she'll hear me in time, but in the time that it takes her to cross the room and envelope me into her warm and loving embrace. It's almost instant the moment I can smell the shampoo in her hair. The tears start as though the damn is busted and I bawl into her shoulder. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" "I'm going to kill whoever did this to you." She exclaims as the door slams from behind her and we are now trapped and my fear escalates even more knowing that Vy's presence makes this situation more die and the need to protect her instead comes at an all time high. "Claude... set a trap in the woods. I fell. And then Samuel - he... " I can barely make out the words in the order of appearance and just want nothing more than to go home with Vy. I want to walk out of here, unharmed and for Vy to just laugh at my side at this entirely huge prank, but the pain makes this all too real. "Vy. I"m scared. Samuel said you were hurt. Said that you had fallen trying to help someone. I didn't even think. I didn't know that..." My stomach is flaring with rage and in an instant I feel my body releasing the hold with Vy. I make it to the corner in time to emtpy the contents of my stomach onto the floor and a soft whimper escapes. A blunt force extracts the door open and he steps in to see me in the corner and his stature doesn't chance. "Well. That's an unpleasant experience. You going to live?" He remarks with absolutely no remorse in his tone. "Now, I'm going to tell you what's going on. This healer has already paid her dues. I've made sure to that, but Trainer Pryce. You still need to answer to me for making my boy the runt of the litter here in my home. How dare you? Ms Ruze and I have already discussed that the unqualified shouldn't dismiss students without their parents say so. Particularly me. Got it? Now, unless she's willing to take the punishment that you deserve, I think I will go ahead and expect you to know what's to come." My eyes are running with water while my stomach no longer needs to release anything else. Instead, I feel Vy's arms around one of my arms and guiding me back tothe cot as I take it a little more heavier than needed. "She has nothing to do with this, Claude. The ultimate say so what all up to me and the healers. I don't know why you feel the need to punish her trainer. She didn't do anything wro..." Heavy boots approach like lightning speed and a hand is placed on my throat immediately. "You do NOT tell me what to do on my own property. I know what she did to my boy. I know what she failed to do to protect him. It's my word against your word and lady, You respect your elders." He releases me and I can already feel the tension in Vy's body as the man steps away, she's protecting me again. The door closes promptly after he states something that I feared the most. "Sundown, you and I are going to have a lesson on how to train careers. You better hope that you fight well or your ass is going to be in worst shape then your friend there. I'll leave you two alone." Claude disappears without another sound to follow him. "Vy. You can't fight him. You can't... not with the baby. You know... Vy... Vy..." I wrap my arms around her and lay my throbbing head against her chest.

Kyanite Ruze Vy's body feels warm against my back. There's no pain there at all which is a good thing but my shoulder is throbbing and my head is swimming with the effort to stay awake. She's a good distraction though as she coddles me into her loving embrace. The only question I have is why I am always the one to end up in her arms, injured and unable to counter the show of love. Instead, I soak up the arms that circle me and the breath that brushes against my forehead. Only moments ago, Claudes hand clutched at my throat, threatening me with my own life but Vy was the one to show him that in doing so was going to cost him. Her nails dug into his skin and as he walked away, I could see the bubbles of blood surfacing on the man. Oh how I wish that I could pour the alcohol onto his fresh wounds and see how he likes it. I can't. I'd rather not make things worse on either of us, because Vy's cheek is sporting a bright red mark on her face from the attempt to hurt him. I'm not sure how much time has passed but it feel like forever. My eyes heavy with sleep even though I know I have to stay conscious, for Vy's sake. I just think about Mira and Brooklyn... "Do'nt worry. I can take him... I'll keep us all safe." All... she used the word all mentioning the little one that has no idea what is really happening out here in the real world. Instead of the term both, meaning me and her, she's now drawing a huge smile upon my lips. "I know you will." I mumble. I nestle myself within her grasp and level out my breathing for the longer I sit still, the easier it is on my head. I wish I had some painkillers right now. Vy moves from behind me though, taking me away from the comfort that I was having. She reaches for something and then brings a cup to her lips. "What are you doing?" I watch her very briefly as she takes a sip from the cup and swishes it around. Then offers me the cup as well. Her words of care is beyond her own need but she loves me, I know. She only wants the best for me, but if I consume the liquid, I"m afraid that it'll reappear. "I'm good." "I'm not going to let you get dehydrated after puking. If it's drugged, we'll die together like that book..." I roll my eyes and shake my head slightly regretting it almost immediatly followed by a groan. Her lips touch the side of my head where that branch connected thanks to Samuels good aim. He knew what he was doing and he knew just where to hit. I barely even remember being hit there before waking up in here. Makes me wonder how long I had been unconscious. "Thank you." I grin letting her know I appreciate what she did. ".. but don't do that again. You've one more to worry about." I sip the water slowly, and then refuse any more by taking the cup and sitting it down on the table nearest me. Time begins to slip pass us slowly, no longer able to judge the timing that is around us both. I've forgotten to keep count and can't tell by the sun outside how much longer we've got. Neither of us can see nor does either one of us want to move away from the other for fear that we'll get seperated. "How are you feeling? Dizzy? Tired?" "Like I was a daredevil and decided to do crazy stunts and failed." I joke, huffing slightly. The mention of going to the doctor just makes it seem as though it's a flashback from the fights we used to get into. The fights that exposed everything about her to me and the near death experience that Jins was able to provide me. Here we were again in the same predicament. Her lips travel across my forehead several times eliciting a smile from my lips. I hope she can see it. I hope she can tell how much she makes me happy having all this cuddle time with only her. If only the situation wasn't this horrible. Promises come from her lips and I can't believe her. There's so much at stake right now and the odds are really against us. I am no match for fighting and she isn't either though she feels she's invensible. "Vy... if we get out of here, can you take me to the creek? We've not been there in so long. Take the girls with us. Let them play in the water before it starts getting colder. Lasting good memories." I question her because what else can we do right now? I sigh. The door jiggles and grinds against something as a lock is being placed in the door and a moment later, both Samuel and Claude come in and stand in the doorway. Samuel is one third of his father's size, but he's also been made to keep a thin exterior while the father has gain some weight. Their height is almost the same though. "Vy..." I call out as I sit up fast being hit with waves in my vision. My heartrate has gone through the roof in number and I'm more than prepared to fight. "What do you want?" I bark, as Samuel makes his way over to us and he's pulling on my arms forcefully, jerking me away from Vy as I see Claude now going toward Vy. No! This can't be happening. It just can't. There has to be another way and I start to scream out my surrender. "Take me, Claude. Take me. Please. I'll fight you. I'm not afraid." I demand and elbow my assailant in the ribs, making his hold on me loose enough to escape and I run over to Vy, enveloping myself in her arms to keep Claude from claiming her and my lips crashing on hers as I chant different words. "Okay. Safe. Don't - go. Fight. Love..." Inaudible even in my own ears. Instead of an agreement, Samuel has found some new strength and clamps his hands around mine. He jerks my arms backwards behind my back, igniting a pain in my shoulder so bad I crumple to my knees immediatly. "Let go... ow! You're hurting me! Samuel! STOP!" I watch as Claude fights with Vy and the more I try to get back to my feet, Samuel has found that I do exactly what he wants just by manipulating my shoulder. Finally, Vy disappears from beyond the door and the boy is left behind with me. I struggle against his hold. I want nothing more than to chase after Vy and Claude but he holds me back. I scream out in anger. I kick at him, connecting once with his shin and that is enough to anger him. I pull my body weight against the hold to get out of his grip. Pleading and accepting, he suddenly lets go of my hands and my body crashes to the ground. I wasn't expecting him to just let go. As such, I am momentarily stunned as Samuel steps over my body and quickly exits before I can manage to make myself get up. "No! VY! Don't hurt her. Please don't hurt her! Come back... COME BACK!" I scream out and I'm once again in the dark and alone. My eyes well up with tears and I curl up on the cot waiting for nothing now.

Kyanite Ruze The cot is hardly comfortable anymore. It's nearly impossible that I can escape this shed without help. She was taken too soon. Vy was ripped away from me, and I was ripped away from her. Hands captured me and used that moment to kill me on the inside to see her go out that door. The thought that something might happen to the little bean inside. If something happens to that baby before it's even born... before I can hold that tiny precious little being in my arms, I will forfeit the world and keep that child safe through the afterlife. Silence protudes from every inch of the shed. I can't concentrate on nothing at the moment, except for the fate of Vy. How much time has passed since she was dragged out of here without my screams to help? How much longer will she be gone and in need of my help while I'm sitting here helpless? "Vy... please be okay. Please don't get hurt to protect me... Please keep our little baby safe." I beg. I shift my body slightly, rolling to the side testing the limitations on the concussion I'm sure I've got. No matter what I do, my vision is only a second behind in catching up to the position my body is in. Luckily, the neausea isn't as bad now that my stomach is empty. The next step is getting up even more and to find a way out the moment Vy is brought back to me... if she is. If not, then I have to go to her. I sit up on the cot and stand slowly, dragging my hands along the wall of the shed, feeling the tools that can be used for a weapon at my earliest convience. My mind is already contemplating the different ways to use these weapons against the door and that's when I start to study that even more. The door... the hinges. They are located on the inside and thus, gives me great hope that I will be able to go find Vy before anything worse happens to her. I grab some form of long crowbar and start to warp the edges of the metal. Though the act of pulling on it is aggrevating my shoulder to no end, I still proceed until I hear footsteps approaching again. My heart drops. My breath catches in my throat and the weapon is laid down quickly as I stumble back to the cot. They mustn't notice what I'm doing before I"m ready for them to. I wish that the lights were working, but they must have cut the power after Samuel and his father made an exit before dark. Then a rough sound comes from outside, as well as a groan and I'm on my feet in an instant, grabbing the crowbar in my hand again. The door opens and in comes Vy. She's nothing but a shadow of darkness as I whip out in front of the door and swing mightily toward the person standing there and the crowbar halts suddenly when it hits flesh and a bellowing howl comes out. I'm not sure what I hit, but another person had been with them that I didn't expect and I'm shoved backwards and the door closes, enveloping us to be together again. "Vy..." "It's okay... it's okay." She definately doesn't sound okay and the quiver in her voice isn't good. She's hurting and based on the fact that she's on the floor and not immediately up on her feet is not a good sign. I crumple to the floor and feel for her. My hands mapping out where her head is and then her stomach. My hands touch her stomach gently as she recoils to the touch. "Oh God... Vy, did they hurt you? Did they hurt your stomach? Where all did they..." Anger boils inside of me and the lights to the shed suddenly pop on and the room is filled with a very dim light. I can see the bright redness on Vy's face and the position in which she is laying in. The pain she's in because of what those monsters have done to her. "Vy.. talk to me sweetie. Where does it hurt?" If they've done the unthinkable to her, then they've not only sealed their own fate, but I might as well have been condemned to being shipped off to the capitol to serve without a tongue. Tears spring forward in very little amounts. Instead, heated debates on who to seek revenge on first start to arise. My arms encircle around Vy as much as I can without jostling her. I nuzzle her neck, and whisper small things of 'I'm sorry' and 'I wish it were me'. Minutes must have gone by before I let her go. I push myself up in a hurry, stumbling to the door like a drunk man, pounding on it as hard as I can. "ASSHOLES. WHY DON'T YOU FIGHT ME NOW? I can take you..." I scream in hatred. More than ten times, I beat on the door until I give out and then the real tears start to escape me. As I slowly turn away from the door, I look at Vy laying there. My heart breaks and I know if I don't get us out of here, then she's going to be in trouble and I don't even want to think about the little one growing inside. "I'm going to get us out of here somehow. CAn you walk?" I ask her and then start to break open the door again with the crowbar. Creaking sounds come from the bending of the metal as I pull hard and harder on the bar. I grunt heavily as something finally gives and once that part had been pulled out, there's still three more to go. The more I force myself to use all my muscle on it, my head starts to bust open. The throbbing continues but I have to keep going. Despite everything going on, I only have to look over to Vy for a moment to see that I am her only hope right now. Soon enough, the third hinge is broken off the wall and the door immediately gives way. I look outside. I listen closely. There isn't any footsteps and then I turn to Vy. "Get up if you can. We need to go. We need to get out of here." The door is lodged to the side and Vy is in my arms, giving her all my support as we slip through the wooden prison. It's almost too good. It's almost too easy that we were able to escape like that. Maybe the family is sleeping or something and that's what's given us our incredible luck? "I'm sorry. I know you hurt, but please. Keep going." I urge her forward, feeling her weight pulling me down as well. I'm not all that stable myself but she's somehow giving me the courage and strength to pull this miracle out. However, there is noise behind us somewhere. A voice, if very faint, but a voice can be heard. I halt immediatly and face Vy. "I need to stash you away. I need to hide you and I'm going to run ahead and get help. You are too... badass to keep going, Vy. Much as you would like to be my knight, I have to be your princess." I take her lips against my own, in a sense of urgency and passionately. A moment later, I press my forhead against her. "Lets use some games tactics on these people shall we?" A few moments later, she's covered, hidden in the brush, lit by the light of the full moon. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be able to see where I was going at all. Before, I leave her, I brush my hand against her face, and kiss her lips once more. Then my hand goes to touch her stomach very lightly and very gently I put a kiss upon her midsection. "Please be okay." "Over here! I hear something!" A voice, Samuels, comes out loud and clear and I take off quickly as I start barging my way toward the direction I feel is to town. Over and over again, I feel the switches from the trees hit against my face and the fear is very present when the voice sounds like it's right behind me - until I feel fingers grabbing at my shirt and then I am thrown back and into the hands of the one that doesn't want us leaving. "You sneaky little piece of shit. How the hell did you get out? I thought I hit you hard enough to realize that you don't want to cross me again?" Samuel badgers me, and straddles my body, pressing his hands against my shoulders to keep me down sending stabbing pains through my injured shoulder. "You're stupid, Samuel. You put me in a shed with tools. Do you just think that I won't be able to get out?" A hand is raised against me and just as he plans on hitting me, something lifts him off and I am momentarily stunned to see a shadow of a man. "Who...?"

Kyanite Ruze Vy is supposed to be safe, tucked away and camoflauged beneath the earths debris. I can only hope that I can reach town before something happens to me, but that is damaged the moment a pair of hands throws me away from the destination. He keeps me pinned against the ground, his arms pressing down hard on my shoulders. He's trying everything he can to make sure to make me feel the pain he felt the last few weeks. Both mentally and physically he has me restrainted. My thoughts lie with Vy. Is she safe? Is she scared? Is she possibly dying or is the baby... "Who...?" I question the moment that Samuel is ripped off of my body. His weight no longer weighing down on my hips and his hands pressing hard against the discomfort in my shoulder. I grimace and roll over to the side as I watch the shadow of a man pull Samuel away and throw him to the ground. "What's going on." Samuel screams out before the sound of flesh against flesh occurs and he is nothing but a heap on the ground. The thump of his body hitting the ground sets a new fear up inside of my body. I go rigid. I grumble as I try to move and drop my head into my hands. If whoever this stranger is on my side, I shouldn't worry. However, I have no clue if he is or not. Do I really want to see this guy come after me next? Is it better to just let it happen? "You okay?" His voice is rough, probably from years of drinking or smoking or maybe he's just older than most. At first, his voice isn't demanding. It's softer, more caring but the second time he belts out those two words plus more, I get fearful again. "YOU OKAY, I said?" I whimper and nodd my head. I hear his footsteps coming near and my head starts to bust with pain again as my blood pressure rises. "Please... I'm hurt. My friend is hurt. I need to get help." I finally express with hurt in my voice. I hear him take another two steps to my right and I turn my head slightly to the right to see his boots and then I see a hand coming to rub my sore shoulder. His fingers mess with the area that hurts the worst and it makes me wonder how he knows. "You've pulled a muscle in your shoulder, but it should be fine. Maybe even bruised. From when you fell, wasn't it?" He questions, begging me to question how he knew. Was he there when I was thrown into the ditch to die and then be rescued by my assailants. "Feels worse than that." I admit as he puts his hands around my waist and tries to pick me up. Immediately, I swing heavily and start to fight against his hold when he simply lets me go. "Fine. You want your friend to die out there, then go ahead, but I'm trying to help you girls out." He raises his hands for a moment, then asks me to let him help. "You going to let me help you save your friend and yourself?" I nod and then give in to his arms around my waist to lift me from the ground and he wraps a hand around my back, steadying my body. "Don't worry, my knight. I'm coming." I whisper and rely too heavily on the guy beside me for the first five minutes of the trek back to my love. I hope she's still there. I hope that she's still awake and talking. I pray that the little baby inside is safely cocooned from within her body and whatever those monsters did to her didn't hurt my little squirt to be. "Where did you stash her?" I look around, wondering where I did in fact leave her. I had ran for a good ten minutes or so before I was caught by Samuels grasp. Her location is found only two minutes later and I rip myself from the man's grasp to go ahead and when I do, I can feel the fear from within her voice and feel something wiz beside my body to be aimed by an assumed assailant. "Vy! Don't. He's one of us." I vouch for him but it doesn't look as though Vy is very happy with that notion of him being untouchable. She looks terrible, to say the least. Her eyes emmit nothing but pain as she stares toward us, but particularly him. "Seriously? I"m trying to help you girls!" Annoyance drips from his voice. He compliments us both on being able to be captured by the demonic family. I glare at him. "It wasn't our decision." I hiss and he raises his hands in defence against himself. "I understand that." He merely says as Vy suddenly looks at me through blinders directly to me. She's studying me; using her interrogation tricks to see if what I'm about to answer is correct and honest. "Yes. I'm okay..." I linger. In all honesty, I'm not. I've been captured, beaten, watched my girlfriend endure something so horrific that I feel I will never forgive myself if something happens to her or our baby. "He saved me from Samuel. He stepped in just in time, but I'm okay, Vy." I try to convince her as our new friend scoops up Vy into his arms and she suddenly screams out evoking tears to suddenly fall from my eyes. I hate to see her in pain. Now I know what she went through when I was injured those many times. "Vy. I'm sorry." I murmer as I reach for her hand for a second, just to touch flesh and he proclaims we need to move. He addresses me directly calling me a little fighter and in response, I take the lead but ultimately let him lead after a few minutes when he starts to vere off to the right. Several times during the trek, I have to stop and find a stable place to lean. I'm just glad that it's getting dark out because I'd rather them not notice my slow pace. Trying to keep up to them has my vision blackening more than the night sky by the time we find lights. "You girls need to be looked over. I know my brother and he wasn't going to be easy on those that cross his path. Especially you young lady." He remarks towards Vy. Something about the way he looked at Vy sets off something in my mind that makes me resent the man even more. So, Claude really did have it out for Vy? I didn't think that I would have been pushed into that mix, but things have happened and I can't take it back. If I had known his family, I would never have signed his life away. I wouldn't have pushed Vy to make sure that he wasn't trained. Could it be that this might be my fault? Vy's in the shape she's in because of what I contributed? "Little warrior, we are here." He says, locating a uniform and then pointing us in the direction. I nodd and follow closely until we confront them, and Vy is suddenly passed over into the peacekeepers arms. The time passes slowly as I stare at the pale walls. Normally, I am the one going into the rooms to seek out the patient and attend to them, only this time, it's me. The man, whom I've not even asked his name, sits outside my room waiting to hear any news of the ones that he helped rescue. The moment the nurse walks in she greets me with a smile and the equipment for the vitals she's been set to get. "How you doing, dear? Heard you took a nasty hit to your head. Have you ever had a concussion before?" Standard questions are asked and I realize that more than once I have had a concussion. My dad had given me the last one that I remember. Seems that my luck isn't too good. "Your friend that came in won't let us tend to her until you are done, so here I am. Gotta get you out of here for her." "She won't let them see her?" I stand from the cot and start to go the door before a pair of hands are touching my arms to get me back to the table. "No. I need to be with her. I can be looked at later. I am a healer. I understand the risks. But she needs me more than I need to sit here looking into a light and asking stupid questions." I walk outside the door and see the guy still sitting there. He stands and concern is wrinkled on his eyebrows. "You okay?" He asks me as a hand goes to my arm. "Can you walk me to where they have Vy?"

Kyanite Ruze "Ms. Ruze. Wait, please. If you have a concussion, you needn't be up running around. You need..." The words of the nurse follow behind me closely as I meet up with the man outside my door. Finally a pair of hands touch my arm, trying to coax me back inside to sit down and get fully checked out. "I know what I need and it isn't something that can be in this room. I need to be with my girlfriend." I state the not obvious to her. The hands release me the moment I come in front of Charles. He looks at me with concern and his hand doesn't release my arm. "Alrighty, little warrior. Let's go." He is so calm toward my outlandish behavior. He looks up and nods to someone and I'm guessing he's been given the go-ahead to escort me to the room where Vy is being tended to. All the while, my heart is scraping against my ribcage in effort to stay willing to visit her. I want nothing more than to make sure her and the little sprout is going to be okay. I know they are goiing to though. They just have to be. "I'm sorry for making a fuss. I... Vy is more important in my life. Her and the..." I pause and start to wonder if Vy knows what's going on in her body more than I do. That my positive thinking about the baby will overcome what can actually happen when trauma is done to the stomach so early on in the pregnancy. Maybe, I can give my last breath to make sure the baby will make it. "That's fine. I understand." Is all he says as he leads the way. His arm wrapped around my back keeps me steady in my gait. A screaming comes suddenly from the hallway, echoing in the sound of Vy's but so much in pain or anger. I can't hear what she's saying, but I break away from Charles to walk faster. "Vy?" I mumble and go pass the door without even knocking. "VY!" I exclaim and see her. The lighting in the room, with the white walls, creates such a horrific new light on her. The bruises and dried blood. That horrible pained expression on her face. "I'm here, sweets." I cross the room as quick as I can and wrap my fingers into her hand and my lips going to hers. My forehead pressing up against her. "I'm sorry I'm late. I'm sorry I wasn't here." Charles, however, didn't follow me in as I turn to look for him. "Ky... I... I don't think..." She stutters and then her face screws up with tears holding in her eyes. Tears collecting as a damn and I know she don't ever cry. "I'm sorry." I shake my head, telling her no without a verbal say. My eyebrows furrowing in anger at her as she tries to state what she thinks would be obvious. Someone's gotta have faith and hope. "Don't you dare say it. You have not let them look. You have not let them check. You have no right to demand such an outcome when you don't know..." My lips curl down, as my bottom lip quivers slightly at the control that I do not have. "Finally ready Mama?" The doctor asks her and I can tell that Vy don't want to. I nod my head, to her and then to the doctor but Vy's words have my heart crumbling. If it has to be done, it needs to be. We can't keep assuming the worse. We can't and the little one might need help to stay alive and she's only postponing the outcome even longer. "Vy... you." I bring her hand to my lips and bend down to her level to see her eye to eye. "I'm so sorry Ky..." My mouth drops and I shake my head. "What happend to you being so strong? What happened to you being my rock? My knight? You are the strongest person I know and if that baby is in there, she has half of you and half of their father." I give her a definate sign that I know who that father is and there is nothing that can hurt it. I softly press my lips against her once more and then whisper to her. "Everything will be fine. I will always love you, My Vy." I lean back and look at her, tears filling my eyes now. "Let them, please? I can't loose both of you due to your pride." I pull my hand away from her and lean to her stomach, hoving for a moment before my hand touches it slightly. My finger tips making a slight rubbing motion before my lips touch her stomach, above the clothes and my breath warms her gown. "Baby Vy... you will be alright. You are strong. Your mother is strong, therefore you are strong. Fight. Fight hard. It's too early for you to leave us. I love you..." Tear drops fall, soaking into the gown as I lean up and then beg Vy with my eyes to let them proceed.

Kyanite Ruze "I will always love you to." Powerful words escape from Vy and make my ears tingle with joy. No matter what is fixing to happen, or what ending we'll have, I will make sure this baby isn't forgotten. Both Brooklyn and Mira will have a tiny guardian angel to watch over and protect them through life. On the latter, this baby will become the most loved being ever. Though, we still have to wait for the final verdict from the doctor and finally, after my lips touch her stomach, I'm sure that we will in fact keep the baby. Something is bubbling from within and I refuse to accept anything but having the words 'the baby is okay' to linger into my soul. With words of encouragment seeping into the womb of our child, I lean back and take Vy's hand for good measure. We both need the stability more than ever as the doctor finally is given the go ahead to check what's going on with little Vy. Vy's finger that wiped away my tears lingers. That gentle stroke just enforces me to start saying little prayers over and over in my head and my mouth moves with each word thought in silence. Gel is squeezed upon her belly, and that's something I remember to be a very enlightening experience. That night my father found out that I was pregnant, he threw me away from him and I had hit my head on the wooden cabinet in our living room. I had to be rushed to the hospital where they did the same thing to make sure Mira hadn't been injured in the accident. Just the same as it is for Vy right now. However, her situation is more dire. With the trauma to her belly, it's almost certain that something is going on. But what? "Any abdominal pain? bleeding?" The normal complications that can arise from stomach trauma but so much more dangerous if one is expecting. She simply replies a no for the bleeding, but as for abdominal pain? She admits truth. A cold chill runs down my back, and erupts another round of tears to be squeezed pass my eyelids and I can't simply ignore that miniscule detail. However, details are another thing as Vy is asked what had happened. She never told me and we hadn't had the chance to talk about it either. She looks at me while she squeezes my hand hard. I hold my breath right then and there because I do not know what happened when she was taken away from me. I was forced to stay where I was, unable to move without my vision shifting. "He... he kicked me in the stomach... a few times." My breathe is expelled at an alarming rate as a hiccup of pain is finally released from suppression. "Oh, Vy... I'm so sorry..." My lips curl down as I bring her hand to my mouth, and my lips linger on her skin. They smell of sweat and dirt. They feel dry and unkempt. "You need to keep her away from fighting from now on." Even though the sound of the baby is echoing in the room, just that small bit of accusasion is given to me. It's my fault for not protecting her better, and by that, I mean not offering up myself in her place more dominately. I was weak... "There's no indication of rupturing. His heart tone is a bit abnormal, bnad he's under slight distress..." "He." My mouth utters the word in such a hushed voice. "He." Again, the word comes out but Vy isn't even listening. My face drains of color and the fight to stay upright appears again. Explainations of something must be happening because Vy is able to breath again, but I'm not so sure I can. I just keep stareing at the little person on the screen and then repeating the pronoun in my head. "He." I finally say a little bit louder as Vy does the same thing. "My apologies. Were you two holding off on the gender?" I shake my head softly because I could care less. That was just an added bonus for me getting to know that our little baby... a boy, will be alright. That he's quite a fighter. He'll go far in life and one day, if the fates come a calling, our son will know how to fight with every ounce of his being to be able to make it back home to us. The length of her pregnancy is released as well to further our wanting. Seventeen weeks... thank god. However, things aren't just stuck onto Vy and our boy. The doctor has one look at me and shakes his head with a declaration. "...And another nurse to examine you, young lady." Why me? What's wrong with me that I can't stay here with my girlfriend to make sure she's okay. What will she do without me standing here at her side? He says the findings outloud and to me as she pulls me in to connect our lips in joy. I take it with pride filling my heart. I'm so proud of her for protecting our baby. Emotions set in quickly, and every ounce of pain starts over again. What I fail to notice is how weak my legs feel now that the excitement is over until I start leaning toward Vy. "My knight. I'm going to fall over in a minute if you don't want to share your bed." I mention to her and the nurse that was on the right of me shakes her head and her hands are simply guiding me to the chair beside Vy's bed. I sink into it and lean my head on Vy's bed. My face nearer to her stomach. "Hello my baby boy." I weakly call out and then look up to Vy as the nurse wraps something around my arm. "Easy does it young lady. You shouldn't have ran out on me earlier." She huffs at me, but I mutter something in return with no vowels. Gibberish is my form of communication. She tends to me, as another nurse comes in with an ice pack and putting it in my hands and guiding it to my head. "We need to get you a room so you can rest now that you know momma is going to be alright." My responce is simply by shaking my head. "I'm staying with my girl. Can I lay with her?" I get out clear and plain as day. One another looks at Vy and then at me. "I will not go anywhere... else." They motion to the bed beside vy and then declare it as my own for the time being. I nod, and then try to stand and I do so with little help as my head clears from the adrenaline. "Move over Vy." I state and slowly inch my way into her bed, leaning my head over and onto her shoulder. The nurse begins to assess me by shining a light into my eyes and claiming that one pupil was slightly larger than the other. Figures. I hit my head pretty hard when I fell. "Concussion." Is her first diagnosis and I shrug my shoulders over to Vy as I keep snuggled with her right by my side. Only now, they find the gauze to wrap around my head and placing the ice pack there to stabilize it. Thiss day honestly has been one of the worst, yet one of the best. "Vy. Did you hear... it's going to be a boy. We should think of boys names that aren't Matthew or Brody. No Tyren's. Something truely amazing. When... did we want a boy? I was set on a girl." My speech is slurred as if sleep was something I'd been lacking for days. To satisfy a need I hadnt thought of, my hand goes to rest on Vy's stomach. Very softly I hold my hand there without putting any pressure on her if I don't have to. I know she's hurting and I know she's sore. I don't want to hurt her but I have to have that feel of the little one underneath. I miss that about being pregnant. I remember that feeling when Matthew's hand would grace my stomach. I felt loved, even though it never worked between us. I gained someone better. "You feeling okay, Vy? Do you need me to do anything for you?" I question her, closing my eyes and falling into a relaxed state for once today. Everything is fine. Everything for us will be okay. However, thoughts of our capture start to invade my mind. Pictured images of the shed - the hole. Samuel standing at the top of the crevice I fell into. The nurse standing near the door voices out suddenly, startling me. "You stay right where you are unless you want to get into your own bed." Her voice is calm, yet straight forwardly blunt. I nodd my head and grin. "We are going to get you set up for a few tests and an xray on your shoulder, Ms. Ruze." "Do I have to Vy?" I rely on her for answers since she's older and I respect her more, but end up grinning heavily. I'm just glad to be beside her, and fully in love with the idea of having a child with her. She was there for me so many times. It's time I do the same for her. "Does she get an ice pack for her stomach to help with the bruising?"
