I walk a lonely roadThe only one that I have ever knownDon't know where it goesBut it's only me, and I walk alone
Arabella was numb, her feet idly kicking at the saturated sand beneath her feet. Pain, sharp and persistent, pulses through her head. She was sure it was from the rollercoaster of emotions that filled her- as well as the lack of food and water over the past few days. In front of Meredith and Lysander she had appeared uncharacteristically strong. Forcing herself to push aside the pain of losing Cyro. But out here on her own she felt weak, she felt his death poking at the cracks of her facade, and they were breaking.
Taking a seat she hugged her knees to her stomach, her bloodshot eyes examining the crashing waves of the scarlet ocean. It takes a moment before the tears begin to fall once again. And silently she cried, she cried until she could cry no more. She cried for Cyro. She cried for Xander. She cried for Katelyn and Meredith and Lysander. She cried for herself. She cried until she was angry, her wails turned into sobs which turn into small whimpers as her eyes glared in the direction that Jade and Dominic had fled.
Sniffling angrily she climbs to her feet, marching in their directions, her eyes dancing with rage. She had not brought any weapons, her belongings tossed to the side with her broken alliance. Maybe it was reckless- no, if was defiantly reckless- but she marched in their direction until she saw her figure. Quickly her fingers search for a rock, closing around one quickly she stalks towards her. Jade, resting in a small clearing. Looking around she notices that she is on her own.
"Are you proud of yourself?" she says in way of greeting, her eyes studying the girl who was flirting with death. She should kill her. End her now. She had the rock, the rough edge digging into the sensitive flesh of her palm. She could do it- do it for him. For Cyro. She raises her hand, hovering above Jade. "I should kill you," she rasps, new tears filling her eyes. "I should..." She grounds her teeth.
Do it.
Kill her.
Her arm drops, the rock falling uselessly to the ground beside her.
Her knees clasp in on her, and she lands in the damp sand beside her. She couldn't do it.
