A long body of water that extends nearly half the island, Crocodile Creek is muddy but quaint. The shores offer a perfect place to stretch out and recover in the sun, and at night you can fall asleep to a chorus of crickets and frogs. The creek is narrow enough to cross with a few easy steps, but the water is so cloudy it can be difficult to know when a step might land you knee deep in muck. The large imprints of crocodile feet in the mud give the creek its name, and you’re wise enough to know that there is at least one beast lurking in the depths. The question is, where?

The trees that make up the Neverwood seem almost impossibly vibrant and stunning, with some that appear to be older than Panem itself. Bright, colorful birds flutter in the canopy above, and the sunlight that filters through illuminates a stunning variety of flowers underfoot. It seems to be the definition of an enchanted forest, but you know from experience that the Capitol’s “enchanted forests” are never as charming as they first appear.

Hollowed out and hidden beneath the trees of the Neverwood, the Home Under Ground is surprisingly quaint and comfortable. If you manage to find the entrances, hidden within a few choice trees, you’ll be greeted with a lovely little home complete with stones for chairs, a table made out of a long log, and a giant, inviting bed. Roots of trees twist along the walls and up overhead, creating a woven lattice pattern that keeps the dirt walls from caving in. Something about the charming quarters seems slightly unnerving, though. The space appears almost as if someone were living in it just moments before you arrived. The question then becomes - where did they go?

The largest tree in the Neverwood hides beneath its roots what appears to be a stunning haven. Lined with golden gemstones and glittering fools gold, it even boasts several feather-soft beds. At night it lights up in a warm, tempting golden glow that filters out into the surrounding woods, and if you went close enough you might swear you heard music playing. But don’t expect to find any enchanting, delicate fairies in this hollow. You’ll find the pixies of this Neverland are anything but welcoming.

At the edge of the island is a small cove lined with lush tropical flowers and a beach with colorful stones instead of sand. Large shells and even the occasional doubloon can be found washed up at the edge of the lapping water, which is a stunning, tempting azure, gentle and almost completely smooth. At night a luminescent algae makes the entire lagoon glow blue, making the water transform into its own galaxy. It isn’t hard to imagine what kind of creature this cove was designed for, but beware. Mermaids are not exactly what they are made out to be in storybooks.

Shipwrecked against a reef, the Jolly Roger has clearly been abandoned for a long time. The ship itself leans sharply to one side, causing the deck and all inner rooms to have a tilted floor. Though the sails are ripped to pieces and the wood had been worn by the brine of the sea, many of the rooms on the ship appear to be untouched. Still, the jolly roger is always shifting gently in the sea, the grinning white skull a harsh reminder. Pirates, ye be warned.
