Foxholes

Though there is less snow in this area, the grass is leeched of color and eternally frozen. It grows in patches large enough to hide either friend or foe with small expanses of ice and frost woven in between. Most notable, though, are the tiny holes and caves that can be found at almost every step. They seem to indicate an entire underground network that is no doubt home to a variety of creatures. Tributes entering the fox holes may be wary of twisting their ankles, but they should perhaps be more concerned about what it is exactly inside those dark little spaces. credit: Stare
