Attention all citizens of Panem! In honor of our glorious Quell, the President has decided to host an election! Should you wish to demonstrate your extreme allegiance to the Capitol, you may run for Mayor. As always, we expect each Mayor to comport themselves befitting an emissary of the President. We thank those that have served so loyally over the years.
Please find the application packet attached. May the odds be ever in your favor.
Our intelligence operatives have learned that the corrupt President of Panem intends to hold an election for the District Mayors concurrent with our Presidential Election. In the Seventy-Five years since we declared our freedom, we have held many elections. Never before have our campaigns aligned. While we have considered the ramifications of political unrest, we deem it necessary to continue with our own election, while keeping a close watch on the twelve enslaved districts.
OOC
Every Quell there will be a Mayoral and District Thirteen Presidential election. For the purposes of this form, the terms “Mayors” will also refer to the D13 President. You may run for the election in multiple districts, although we are unlikely to award multiple Mayors to one person. One character per person per district. You are welcome to run with a pre-existing character or an original, unbioed character. If you win, you must complete an extended bio (same length as a Peacekeeper) and tag aya and myself to review.
This event will run through the end of January, with new events every few days. The first event will kick off on January 17th. At the end of January, the events’ points and participation will be tallied as follows, to determine the new Mayors:
40% = Election Participation. How many events completed.
40% = Public Votes.
20% = Judge Votes.
+0.5 for every OTM nomination (up to 3)
+2 for having demonstrated activity with Mayor since the previous election (if running for re-election)
Citizen Voting
You may cast one vote in every district in which you have posted once. You may post during the course of the event to count for voting.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum age: 25
Proof of permanent residency in your district.
In good standing, e.g. not have recently stayed in the Detention Center.
